GSA Warmers – 20th February

Join us next Monday 20th for our first GSA Warmers evening! We are having a late opening of the current exhibition – Articles of Home by Asuf Ishaq in the Reid Gallery, followed by a movement workshop led by artist and choreographer Emma Lewis-Jones in PS1. All the activities are drop in and we will be providing hot drinks and snacks.

Choreographer Emma Lewis-Jones has a socially engaged practice and participants in the workshop will experience gentle offerings from the artist that open up dialogue around the themes of warmth and safety, community, togetherness and ‘nesting’ or ‘place-making’. In a non-judgemental space the group shall work together to pursue enquiries, using an array of domestic and artistic props and Emma’s encouragement to move to action! This will be a playful session embracing collaboration and intervention. No prior experience necessary.

Emma is the creative in residence at Garnetbank Primary and has been facilitating movement-based community workshops for several years. To learn more about her work, visit her website: emmalewisjones.com or Instagram: @emmalewj

GSA Warmers are open to all GSA students, staff and local residents.
